Insurance policy Woerden
The Netherlands has approximately 8 million volunteers. Unfortunately, not all volunteers are properly insured. To change this, the municipality of Woerden has taken out a collective volunteer insurance policy with VNG.
Please note: The insurance is supplementary to your own insurance and therefore does not replace it.
Volunteering risks covered
The municipality of Woerden has taken out a collective volunteer insurance policy with VNG. With the collective insurance, the municipality emphasizes the social importance of volunteers and wants to lower the threshold for doing voluntary work. In this way, the risks of voluntary work are covered as well as possible.
Who is the insurance for?
This includes people who in any way in an organizational context perform non-mandatory and unpaid work that contribute to society, who have taken out collective insurance. Caregivers are also covered by the insurance. You do not have to register in advance as a volunteer organization or as a volunteer.
The following volunteers are excluded:
trainees (insured through the schools)

What to do in case of damage?
Have you been injured during your volunteer work? You first check whether you can report the damage on your own insurance or on an insurance policy of the organization. Is that possible? Then you report the damage to that insurer.
Isn't that possible? Then report the damage to Hart voor Woerden using the digital damage report form below. We have also given an example of how to fill out a claim form.

The insurance is supplementary to your own insurance and therefore does not replace it. The insurance company will ultimately handle the claim.
