Does it suit you to contribute to the cozy atmosphere of the Logeerhuis? Do you enjoy meeting all kinds of people and giving them a pleasant stay? Where you don't shy away from small care tasks, you like to listen to someone's life stories and have empathy for what people experience because of their illness? Are you also someone who mainly wants to bring cosiness in a positive way and thus give a stay a golden edge? Then sign up.

Role of the volunteer:
As volunteers you run the Logeerhuis together. For the extensive care tasks, including possibly also the management of the medication, the district nursing of the home care comes in the house. Small care tasks during the day are also performed by volunteers. In addition, you are mainly there for the well-being of the guests and you take on all related tasks. Think of taking care of the meals, playing games, walking or on the side-by-side tandem, organizing another activity. Not all guests are equally mobile or have a lot of energy, but the art is to look for the challenge that suits them and they are still able and willing.

And we are looking for volunteers who want to work sleeping shifts, you are then only present in the Logeerhuis where you can fall back on the alarm of the home care if necessary. You have access to a sleeping waiting area and you have to take into account possible care tasks during the night. Due to the specific nature of these services, a modest fee is charged. See also our vacancy for sleep guards elsewhere on this website.

For a detailed description of the tasks and the profile of a volunteer, you can download the job description from our website.

Education

Being a volunteer at the Logeerhuis does not require specific diplomas or skills when applying.

We do, however, think it is important that a carer has the confidence to hand over part of the care for the next of kin. And know that there is sufficient attention for the well-being of the guests. Since the volunteers play an important role in this, we believe that training prior to deployment is important.

This training consists of several half-days and is provided by the guest house, sometimes in collaboration with external trainers.

Points covered in the training are:
Vision and method of the guest house.
Communication/Listening
Presence theory
lifting techniques
Creative and active
Diseases and how to deal with them
